Q: How do you clean any spilled lubricant off material? A: Rub in an ample amount of corn starch, or Dawn dish washing liquid to the area before washing. Q: Why is propylene glycol bad? A: It's not really bad, per se. Propylene glycol is a safe additive commonly found in topical preparations as a preservative so that the product will last a long time on the store shelf or in your home. Although for many people it doesn't cause problems, some women develop vulvar skin irritations (i.e. Lichen Sclerosis) from topical preservatives and soaps over time. And other women with existing skin conditions (i.e. vulvar vestibulitis) find it irritating on contact. Q: What is vestibulitis? A: Vestibulitis is a skin condition affecting the glands surrounding the opening to the vagina called the vestibular glands. Symptoms can include itching, burning, stinging, rawness, aching, soreness, and/or throbbing. Sometimes the symptoms are only mild and resolve by avoiding the cause while other women can experience chronic, severe symptoms including painful intercourse. The cause of vestibulitis can vary and includes chemical irritants like soaps, deodorants, and propylene glycol; sexual contact or a history of abuse; tight clothing like thongs and tight jeans; bicycle riding; and any activity that increases pressure on the vulvae. Q: What are the all natural ingredients? A: The active ingredients of Élégance Woman's Lubricant are a proprietary mixture of natural oils including Glycine Willd (Organic Soybean), Canthamus tinctorius (Safflower), and Vitis vinifera (Grapeseed). Q: Is Élégance Woman's Lubricant condom compatible? A: Although Élégance Woman's Lubricant is not FDA approved as compatible with latex condoms there is evidence in the medical community that natural oils are safe with latex comdoms (1) [see below for link to reference].
